SoCal Ragnar Relay-Team Hairforce

Ragnar is a relay that takes place in several cities across the United States. It takes teamwork, stamina, endurance, motivation, and lots of determination to compete in this race.
Here is a quick video of what it's all about;
Team Hairforce competed in the Southern California Ragnar Relay this last weekend! This was my second year in a row joining team Hairforce. One would think we are crazy to do such a relay, but the rewarding feeling of accomplishment afterwards makes it all worth while.
Sometimes when we race, we like to pretend we're celebrities!

Race Medal

After spending months training, we placed 11th overall, out of 553 teams, and 2nd in our division! Team's average pace; 7:45 min/mile

Hours of dedication, and pushing myself to the limit, after all was said and done, I felt lost. The race was over, and my first thought was, "now what?"
On to the next...

A Fresh Start

              Some of you are established fitness lovers, whether it's running, bicycling, circuit training, cross fit, yoga, pilates, body building, swimming...there's just so many, I could go on for days; and some of you are just testing the waters, not quit sure if you are ready to jump in. I've been on both sides of the spectrum.
              Unsure of my abilities, I would go to the gym casually, intending to stay healthy, making sure to have no high expectations with the fear of failure. With no real goals, or strive, I began to learn that every time I left the gym, I felt rejuvenated. The feeling of self satisfaction almost felt addictive. There's something about pushing your body to it's limits that builds confidence in your abilities. I developed a passion for physical fitness and everything that surrounds it; the people, lifestyle, food, and the sense of fashion evolution in activewear.
             Here's some background about me; I have completed two 1/2 marathons (years; 2009, 2010), numerous 5Ks and 10Ks, the SoCal Ragnar Relay in April, 2011 (placed 5th out of over 500 teams, on a team of 12), and a full 100-mile Century Bicycle Ride in November, 2011. Since the Century ride, I have been training for a second year of the SoCal Ragnar Relay, which is in 2 weeks, and we hope to place in the top 3...doing big things over here!

             This is just an introduction...there's MUCH more to come! Stay tuned...

Cheers to being Fit and Gorgeous,
HH
